APPLYING TO SACRED HEART CATHOLIC SIXTH FORM
Applying for a place in Sixth Form is straightforward. A key aspect of the application process is receiving appropriate advice and guidance.
Research
A good place to start the journey through KS5 is the Sixth Form Prospectus: this a good starting point for finding out about life at Sixth Form and the courses we offer, you could follow this up by talking to your teachers and current Sixth Form students. You can also find out more information about courses on the exam board websites.
Sixth Form Open Night - a chance to find out about the courses that are available and what they are like. You will also have the chance to discuss your future with a wide range of staff and current Sixth Form students.
Applying - Current Students
All prospective Year 12 students are invited into school to attend induction days at the Sixth Form. Over several days students have a chance to attend taster lessons in all of the subjects that we offer as well as having the chance to experience life at Sixth Form.
After collecting their GCSE results in August Year 12 students will have an interview with senior staff to discuss their chosen subjects and to offer any further advice and guidance on selecting the right courses.
Applying - External Applicants
External applicants are welcome to come and look around our facilities before applying and our current prospectus, and application forms, are available from school. External applicants are very welcome to attend the Open Night and the Induction Day the dates of which will be published on the website and school social media. On results day, we ask that external candidates come to the Sixth Form bringing their results slip to consolidate their choices. Candidates will meet with a senior member of staff to discuss their options as they finalise their application.
